Recognized as one of the largest caravanserais in Turkey, Ulukışla Mehmet Paşa Külliyesi is located in Ulukışla, Niğde. Built in 1619 by Ottoman Grand Vizier Mehmet Paşa, this monumental complex served as a crucial stop for caravan travelers, traders, and Ottoman soldiers on military expeditions.

As one of the most significant trade and accommodation centers on Ottoman trade routes, the külliye (complex) features a mosque, bathhouse, marketplace, shops, and stables, forming a large-scale architectural ensemble. 🏛 General Layout & Courtyard Design

• The külliye is centered around a spacious courtyard.

Rectangular in shape with two naves.

• Features iron rings attached to stone pillars for tying animals.

• Equipped with 14 fireplaces on its northern wall for warmth.

🔹 Southern Stable

Smaller than the northern stable, located between the mosque and bathhouse.

• Entrance differs from the northern stable, positioned on one of its narrower sides.

• The eastern and western facades feature support walls and small ventilation windows.
