Cevher Pasha Mosque: A Legacy from the Ottoman Era
๐ Located in the Kale district of Denizli, Cevher Pasha Mosque holds a significant place among the wooden-supported and hand-painted mosques built during the 19th-century Ottoman modernization period. Situated within the ancient city of Tabae, this mosque is a remarkable destination for visitors interested in exploring historical structures together.
๐ The mosque has a rectangular floor plan, with a last congregation area on the north side and a minaret at the northwest corner. Inside, three aisles are formed by four wooden columns, displaying the delicate craftsmanship of Ottoman artistry.
๐๏ธ The mihrab is adorned with intricate details. A curtain motif with a balance scale symbol is depicted inside the semicircular niche, while the triangular pediment above, featuring floral motifs, reflects the mosque's unique artistic style.
๐จ Restored by the General Directorate of Foundations in 2006, the mosque was preserved with a hipped roof instead of its original flat roof and remains open for worship today.
