This mosque was commissioned in 1755 by Ayşe Hanım, the daughter of Mehmet Pasha.
It was later repaired during World War I, and underwent another restoration in 1964.

Originally, the entire exterior was covered in vibrant Kütahya tiles, but after the restoration, only the tile decorations around the doors and windows were preserved.
