KEŞLİK MONASTERY 🏛✨
One of Cappadocia’s lesser-known yet historically and architecturally significant sites, Keşlik Monastery is located south of Mustafapaşa in Cemil Village. Also known as Archangelos (Archangel) Monastery, this site holds important traces of Christian history.
Like many other religious structures in Cappadocia, Keşlik Monastery was carved into the rocks as a large complex designed for defense and seclusion. The monastery consists of two churches, a school, a kitchen, a winery, and various rooms. It is estimated that more than 200 people once lived here.
