✅ Founded between 261-263 BC by Antiochus II.
✅ Named after his wife, Laodice.
✅ Became an important economic and cultural center during the Roman Period.
✅ During Emperor Caracalla’s reign, high-quality coins were minted in the city.
✅ A major earthquake in AD 60 completely destroyed the city, which was later rebuilt.
